A modern American restaurant has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Prather’s on the Alley, the newcomer is located at 455 I St. NW in Mount Vernon Square.
Located in a small building that among other things used to be an auto body shop, and more recently an art and framing studio, the restaurant is serving dishes including gourmet burgers, a smoked fish dip with charcoal crackers, tilefish and more.
The new bar has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with the first couple reviewers giving it 5 stars apiece.
Devin L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 9, wrote, “By far one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in DC (and I eat out pretty much every meal). Our meal was so amazing that we had to go back the next night!”
Yelper Kenny L. added, “The ambience is what first draws you in. You stay and keep coming back for the amazing food and the service second. The food looks and tastes amazing. Will definitely be coming back again and again.”
